PBA in Asia

The Seed Biotechnology Center at the University of California, Davis has organized a professional development course to teach the principles of plant breeding to seed industry personnel. This two-year course addresses the reduced numbers of plant breeders being trained in academic programs. Participants meet for six, 6 day sessions over two years in various locations. Readings and exercises continue between sessions via internet to allow participants to maintain their current positions while being involved in the course.

The Asian Plant Breeding Academy, in cooperation with the Asia & Pacific Seed Association (APSA), took place in Thailand, Philippines, and the U.S. from 2012-2014. Special thanks to the Asian and Pacific Seed Assocation for their support in the Asian Plant Breeding Academy.
